This morning my HTC Desire HD, rooted and installed with PAC Android 4.2.2 version 23.0.0, started acting funny when I inserted my usual headphones with mic. The phone started playing music upon headset connect, but there was no audio in the headphones. When I connect normal earphones without mic, audio worked fine. I tried playing music from different apps. Same result. I used different headphones with mic, no difference.
I searched on forums – some suggested factory reset, some cleaning the headphone socket with pressurized air. I decided to reinstall the OS as rooted OSes can sometimes be unstable. But I decided to uninstall all non-factory media apps first – in my case PowerAmp and BeyondPod – first. The uninstalling of those apps solved the problem. I reinstalled Beyondpod. There is no recurrence of problem. I did not reinstall PowerAmp as I am happy with stock Apollo player.
